A “track your order page” is a web page where you enter a unique tracking number (from your confirmation email/receipt) on a carrier’s site (like DHL) or a universal tracker (ParcelsApp) to see your package’s real-time location and delivery status, often found by checking your order confirmation or the retailer’s website.

How to Find Your Order Tracking:

  1. Check Your Email: Look for shipping confirmation emails or receipts from the retailer or online store.
  2. Find the Tracking Number: This is a unique code in your confirmation email or on your invoice.
  3. Use the Retailer’s Link: Many emails contain a direct link to track your order on the carrier’s site.
  4. Use a Universal Tracker: If you have the tracking number, you can use sites like ParcelsApp or the Shop App to track your order.
  5. Contact the Seller: If you can’t find it, ask the online store or sender for the tracking number or ID.

Frequently Asked Questions for Track Your Order

  • What Is a Tracking Number & Where Can I Find It?A tracking number or ID is a combination of numbers and possibly letters that uniquely identifies your shipment for national or international tracking.

Usually, the shipper or online shop is able to provide the tracking number or ID. If you have ordered a product in an online shop, the confirmation email or shipment tracking notification often contains the tracking number or ID. If not, please contact your shipper or online shop.
  • When will my tracking information appear? Tracking events usually appear 24-48 hours after receiving the Track and Trace ID. In general, once the shipment has reached our facility, a tracking event will appear.
  • Why is my tracking number/ID not working? Please make sure you entered the correct tracking number in the correct format: Check for minimum length of 5 characters, and if there are any special characters in your input. Tab, comma, space and semicolon are understood as separators between several tracking IDs. If your tracking ID is not working, please contact your shipper or online shop.
  • If I do not have my tracking number, is it still possible to track my shipment? If you do not have a tracking number, we advise you to contact your shipper. However, if you have other shipping reference numbers, they may work using shipment tracking systems of the specific business unit in charge of the shipment (for example: DHL Express or DHL Freight).

How to track your Order

Where do I track my parcel?

Parcelforce now operates across a single network with Royal Mail which means all your deliveries can now be tracked either using Royal Mail Track and Trace or the previous Parcelforce tracking platform.

Tracking an item works the same way as before, simply enter your reference number to find the status of your delivery.

Where do I find my tracking number?

Our parcel tracking numbers vary in length and may contain letters and numbers. They can be 9, 11, 13, 14, 16 or 21 characters.

If you have bought something online, then the retailer should have provided you with a reference number. If you are sending a parcel through Royal Mail you will be provided with a tracking number in your order confirmation email, or on the Post Office receipt if you have dropped it off at your local branch.

Why doesn’t the Royal Mail Track and Trace tracking tool recognise my number?

There are a few reasons why your tracking number for Track Your Order isn’t recognised.

  • Please check you’ve entered the reference number correctly.
  • If you’re waiting for a parcel delivery check the sender has given you the right reference number.
  • Check the reference number is for an item sent using a Parcelforce Worldwide or Royal Mail service.
  • The sender might have created a tracking number, but we may not have received the parcel yet. It may be best to try later, allowing time for the item to be received into our network.

I’ve missed my parcel delivery what can I do?

After an initial attempted delivery, we will automatically attempt redelivery on the next working day if we haven’t left your item in an appropriate safeplace or with a neighbour. You can arrange an alternative redelivery or collection from a local depot or Post Office, for more information please visit our redelivery page.

What can I do if I’ve lost my reference number?

If you’re the recipient:

  • Contact the sender and ask them to give you the number
  • If you ordered an item online, check your order confirmation or invoice. It might contain your reference number

If you’re the sender:

  • Try contacting the recipient. They’ll be able to tell you if they’ve received the item.

We’re sorry, but if you sent your item at a Post Office® and you’ve lost the receipt or the tear-off section from the label, we won’t be able to tell you the reference number.

Please note: we can’t use any other information like a name or address to track your order items. Unfortunately, without a reference number, you won’t be able to track your item.
